Belleville plays host to the COSSA AA hockey championships Monday and Tuesday.

Monday, the girls get it done at the Sports Centre with semi-finals at 10:30 a.m. ? St. Theresa vs. Cobourg West at Wally Dever Arena; Moira vs. Peterborough Adam Scott at QSC Rink A. Finals are 3 p.m. at WDA.

Boys hit the ice Tuesday for semi-finals at 10:30 a.m. ? North Hastings vs. Haliburton at WDA; Trenton High vs. Fenelon Falls at QSC Rink B. Finals are 2:30 p.m. at WDA.

TROJANS SWEEP FOURTH STRAIGHT CURLING CROWN

The Moira Trojans have won their fourth consecutive Bay of Quinte boys curling title and will compete at the COSSA championships, Tuesday in Omemee. Winners advance to OFSAA, March 21-24 in Grimsby. The Moira boys won a provincial bronze medal last year in Thunder Bay. Members of this year?s Bay of Quinte champions are Mac Calwell, Daniel Meeks, Morgan Calwell and Alexander Mackenzie. Trojans beat ENSS in the final. Meanwhile, ENSS won the Bay of Quinte girls title, defeating the St. Theresa Titans with four points in the final end of their final to secure the gold medal. The ENSS team features Allison Wight, Elizabeth Harder, Jess Carr and Katie Draper.

MIDGET AA BEARCATS THROW WATER ON FLAMES

The Chapman Plumbing and Heating midget AA Belleville Bearcats rode the shutout goaltending of Breanna Bunnett to a scoreless tie in Clarington Saturday afternoon against the Flames, earning one point and winning their Lower Lakeshore Female Hockey League four-point series, 4-2. Bearcats now meet Leaside in their division final. A 1-1 tie preceded Saturday?s scoreless draw with Clarington, as C.J. Tipping scored Belleville?s goal, from Madison Robertson and Christi McKinney. Rikki Lund was in net for the Bearcats.
